Interview: Matt Woods

First we have to know: are you single or taken?

I am very much single.

How did you become a Rufskin model?

I actually attended a Rufskin runway show when I first moved to San Diego and was highly impressed with their product.

I will never forget the show. It was so super sexy! Their line was hip, unique, sexy, and very fashion forward. Coincidentally a year later I was chatting over coffee with my friend Garrison and expressed my interest in the Rufskin Product.

He told me he worked for them and I should come and see him at the office. To be quite honest I was merely looking to score a free pair of booty shorts or some cute underwear.

I ended up doing some test-shots, and the rest is history.

Does being a Rufskin model make it easier or harder to date? Are mortal men intimidated to approach you?

I won’t say being a Rufskin model makes it harder to date, but I would say it does seem to change the dynamic and expectations of the other person.

When you are the face of a brand, people always have an idea or expectation of what they think you will be like.

Not to sound to cliché but I really am very much the boy next door. I was born and raised in Portland Oregon, graduated college from Arizona State University and am just a nice normal polite young man.

I do find that some guys are intimidated to talk with me, but after a couple of drinks I think everyone, including myself, feels a bit more relaxed.

Would you date a guy from Los Angeles?

I would, and have dated guys from Los Angeles. Unfortunately I feel long distance isn’t the most conducive to a successful relationship so I try and steer away from dating guys outside of San Diego.

With that being said, I will admit if I did meet “Mr. Right” I would try and make it work whether they lived here or in Oklahoma.

Will this be your first runway show?

This will be my third runway show.

Do you know what threads you will be wearing down the catwalk?

I am not sure what clothes I will be wearing, but I have the utmost faith in the Rufskin designers and have never been disappointed. Not knowing is all part of the fun!

What are some of your favorite items from Rufskin’s summer collection?

Some of my favorite items are their jeans, underwear, and of course swimsuits! I LOVE their speedos, but my all time favorite item would have to be their “Brazilian cut” booty shorts.

They have sexy and original prints and colors to choose one. Oh! I can’t forget to mention one of their suits is called the “Matt,” named after yours truly.

Can guys meet you after the show?

Yes! I would love to meet some new faces before, during and maybe even after the show. After my last heart break I have sworn off men for a bit, but I am always accepting resumes.
