Matt Woods was born and raised in Portland, OR, where he trained as a competitive gymnast in high school. Matt studied at Arizona State University business and graduated with a B. A. in Business Administration. He continued training and eventually coached competitive gymnastics nationwide before moving to San Diego, where he began modeling for fitness magazines and clothing companies including San Diego based Rufskin.
